ICL’s Impact in the News

ICL President and CEO Jody Rudin recently sat down with Spectrum News NY1 to talk about our new video, “Coffee On Us,” which addresses the stigma surrounding the biggest challenges New Yorkers face.

“As a society, there is a tendency to look away when someone is experiencing mental health challenges. Showing up, leaning in, and showing compassion and empathy can go a long way,” Jody shared. Check out her full interview and be sure to share “Coffee On Us” with your network!

Jody was also recently recognized by City & State New York as a “Nonprofit Trailblazer.” Under her leadership, ICL is not only destigmatizing mental health—we are creating and expanding programs to fill critical gaps in care in New York City.

Program Spotlight: Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic

May marked Mental Health Awareness Month. ICL is proud to offer a diverse array of programs— from outpatient clinics to mobile treatment to permanent housing—to support the well-being of New Yorkers. Our dedicated staff provides equitable care so participants can achieve their health and stability goals.

One of our most flexible programs to address the mental health needs of New Yorkers is our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic. Our team offers connections to mental health and primary medical care, housing support, veterans services, and more—regardless of ability to pay. The program works with people in Brooklyn who would otherwise have limited access to these resources. Thanks to tireless outreach in schools, shelters, and in the community, our team is already engaging with over 100 participants so far this year.
