Collaborative on Housing for Health Jody Rudin, ICL's President and CEO, was named a member of The Helmsley Charitable Trust and Convergent Impact's new Collaborative on Housing for Health. This effort brings together nonprofit and government leaders to expand services and improve health outcomes for New Yorkers with complex health and social needs who are experiencing homelessness or in crisis. “I am honored to work alongside my talented peers to take a strategic approach to creating systemic solutions that prevent individuals experiencing mental health and substance use challenges from falling through the cracks,” says Jody. Supporting the Stability of Veterans This month, Grubhub generously donated 400 meals to ICL’s Borden Avenue Veterans Residence, New York City's only shelter exclusively serving veterans experiencing homelessness. “By donating food to us veterans, it really shows that people do care,” said John, a resident of Borden. |

Council Member Julie Won’s office joined the event to distribute delicious, nourishing meals from O'Neill’s Restaurant of Maspeth, a veteran-owned Queens staple known for its Irish-American cuisine. Check out coverage from The Queens Post to learn more. Many veterans faced trauma during their time of service. Homelessness compounds these experiences and can exacerbate mental health challenges. ICL is dedicated to supporting veterans in need. Last year, we successfully transitioned 238 veterans out of shelter and into permanent housing, marking a significant milestone in their journey to long-term stability. |

Health Connect Fills Gaps in Care ICL recently launched Health Connect, a new behavioral health program that fills gaps in care and ensures better outcomes for residents of scatter-site supported housing. In a traditional scattered-site model of care, individuals receive visits from their support teams once a month. This model is effective for many, but as individuals with serious mental health challenges age in place, they may need more robust support. Funded through creative use of Medicaid with support from the State Office of Mental Health, ICL’s Health Connect program provides comprehensive whole health care support and preventive care services so residents can live independently and build lasting stability. |

ICL’s Senior Vice President for Transitional Services, Dr. Jeanine Costley, was selected by Crain's New York Business as a “Notable Black Leader.” Dr. Costley is a passionate advocate for trauma-informed, person-centered care, and she is deeply committed to meeting the housing and mental health needs of New Yorkers experiencing homelessness. |

Emily Kingman, our Vice President of Whole Health Strategic Initiatives, was aptly named an “Anthem Whole Health Hero.” Emily's leadership has advanced ICL’s vision of integrated care—bringing mental health, primary care, and social services together to improve the well-being of thousands of New Yorkers. |

|
|
Finally, ICL’s VP of Workforce Development, Mark Schwartz, is embarking on a three-day bike ride from Albany to ICL headquarters to raise awareness and funds for our critical mental health resources. Congratulations to Jeanine and Emily, and thank you to Mark! We are proud of our team for going above and beyond for New Yorkers facing the most significant behavioral health challenges. |
