Introducing: Coffee On Us
Destigmatizing the biggest challenges that New Yorkers face starts with having a conversation. In our new video “Coffee On Us,” which we've launched ahead of Mental Health Awareness Month, New Yorkers have candid discussions about mental health, substance use, and housing insecurity. Christine is one of three inspiring program participants who shares her experience. She has dealt with depression for as long as she can remember. Ten years ago, she was in a “black hole” when she connected with Sharon, an ICL case worker. To this day, Sharon supports Christine, ensuring she takes her medication, sees a doctor, and remains stably housed. “ICL helped me live the independent life I have always wanted,” says Christine. Watch the important dialogue that unfolds after Christine and others openly talk about their experiences. Be sure to share the video on social media and with your network. Together we can #EndTheStigma and create a better city for New Yorkers facing the greatest challenges.
