Thank You for Your Kindness!

Since 1986, ICL has led with kindness and understanding while offering critical services. Because of your generosity this holiday season, we can continue to show up in communities, shelters, and schools to provide mental health support, a nourishing meal, recovery assistance, or a path to housing.

Your support also fueled many Acts of Kindness—including providing move-in kits for New Yorkers transitioning to permanent housing, toys for children in our programs, and 10,000 Bombas socks for our shelter residents. We are so grateful for your partnership!

In 2025, there will be more ways to be kind. In February, ICL is hosting our first annual Sweethearts Ball, a prom for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This special evening will bring joy and a sense of belonging to our participants. Your support helps make meaningful moments like this possible. Thank you!

The New York Times Covers ICL's Successful OnTrackNY Program

The New York Times recently published a story about Kevin, a participant in our OnTrackNY program, which supports people experiencing their first episode of psychosis. The goal is to provide resources as early as possible to ensure participants can lead their most self-sufficient, productive lives.

The story follows Kevin’s journey from his first episode of psychosis, to navigating a diagnosis and treatment—with around-the-clock support from ICL and his family along the way.

Now, Kevin is a graduate of Syracuse University and enrolled in a master’s program in Boston. He is achieving his goals and redefining what it means to live fully with serious mental health challenges. “This is what recovery looks like,” he says.

Kevin’s story is an example of the power of early intervention programs. In order to tackle the homelessness, mental health, and substance use crises, we need to show up for people long before problems become entrenched. ICL is proud of Kevin and our incredible OnTrackNY team, who are deeply committed to ensuring participants can build stability and resilience.

New Year, New Leadership

ICL is pleased to announce new leaders who will advance our work to deliver life-changing housing, health, and recovery services to New Yorkers with behavioral health challenges.

Previously our Senior Vice President of Care Management, Dr. Troy J. Boyle, Ph.D, LCSW is now ICL’s Chief Operating Officer. Rondel Boodram has joined as our Chief Financial Officer, Evan Kaplan is our Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer, and Christiana Gozo is our Senior Vice President of Quality Improvement & Impact.

Together, these talented individuals bring decades of expertise to their roles and will help New Yorkers get better with us. We are excited to have them on the ICL team!
